How to Determine if Shock Absorbers Need Replacing

If your car's shock absorbers make unusual noises, they are damaged and must be replaced. If the temperatures of the two shock absorbers differ significantly, or if the shock absorbers have low or no friction resistance, it's usually due to insufficient lubrication or damage to precision parts in the valve.
1. Drive 10 kilometers on a road with poor road conditions and then stop. Touch the metal casing of the shock absorbers. If it's not hot enough, the internal structure of the shock absorber lacks friction resistance, and the shock absorber is not functioning. Add appropriate lubricant and test again. If the metal casing is hot, the shock absorber is low on lubricant and needs to be lubricated. Otherwise, the shock absorbers will fail.
2. Gently press the front bumper of your car and then release it. If the vehicle bounces 2-3 times, the shock absorbers are working properly.
3. When the car is moving slowly and then suddenly stops, if the vehicle vibrates violently, the shock absorbers are faulty.
4. At this time, there should be a stable friction resistance, with the upward friction resistance greater than the downward friction resistance. If the frictional resistance fluctuates or there is no frictional resistance at all, it may be due to insufficient structural oil in the car's shock absorber or damage to the precision parts of the gate valve, requiring repair or replacement of the precision parts.
